Panos Vagenas is an Advisory Software Engineer at IBM Research, architecting innovative technologies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Information Retrieval, and Data Management. He has been co-driving the Docling open-source project from its inception as a core developer and Technical Steering Committee member within the LF AI & Data Foundation. Panos holds an MSc in Computer Science from ETH Zurich and has received multiple awards including the NASA Group Achievement Award, the IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, the ACM SIGMOD Best Demonstration Award, and the ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship.
